Have you ever struggled with self-doubt, or uncertainty?
I suspect that even the most confident people ‘have their moments’. I know an extrovert friend of mine told me that her seeming confidence was sometimes a cover for uncertainty. I’m an introvert so when feeling uncertain I withdraw. How do you cope when you feel anxious and uncertain?
When you’ve been feeling anxious has anyone irritated you by saying, ‘Just breathe’? If ‘just breathing’ worked, you wouldn’t be anxious as we all breathe all the time!
However, there are some special ways of breathing that can help. Here is one very easy one to use at night to help you fall asleep:
1. to the count of 4 take a deep breath in through your nose into the bottom of your lungs,
2. let it out through your mouth also to the count of 4.
3. Practise doing it now to help you to remember it before you go to sleep.
