Do you ever feel not enough? Not enough what? Clever, confident, worthy, thin, pretty, healed? Where did you learn that?
Imagine that self-doubting part of you is a child and you can give them a cuddle, and reassure them of your total acceptance and love just as they are. How does that feel?
Every time you try something new, or stretch yourself to another level, self-doubt is part of the process. Embrace that part of yourself, hear that voice as cautioning you against possible ‘danger’ and instead of squashing it, acknowledge it, thank it for its caution and explain why you’re going to keep doing what you’re doing.
Acceptance is the first step to change. Once you accept your self-doubt without judgement it becomes possible to question the validity of what its saying and change that perception of yourself. Denying the doubting part of you pushes it into the shadows from where it will wage guerilla warfare on so much more of your life than the original issue!
Your inner voice is part of your makeup and will not go away, however, you can retrain it from being critical and doubting to supporting and encouraging you. My e-book below tells you how, or give me a call if you’d like to talk about this.
And if you’re feeling stuck, happy enough doing what you’re doing, but knowing that there is more to life, more to you, more that you want to do, but don’t know how to get there, or perhaps you don’t know what more looks like, then I have a gift for you – a free 4 week programme in which you’ll focus on one outcome you want and release the limiting beliefs that are getting in your way. Give me a call to arrange this.
When you retrain your inner voice, it’s amazing what’s possible!
