Choose to live inspired!

Have you ever thought, if   xxxxx    life would be easy / I’d be always be happy?

I think we all dream that dream, especially when things are not going smoothly! However, it is just a dream. There is no happy ever after! Life always has its ups and downs. That’s how you grow.

Without challenges you’d have no real sense of achievement, and if everything came easy, would you value it? When you’ve overcome a challenge that’s important to you, don’t you feel great? And often more confident too!

Living true to your values will give you more fulfillment, but not make life happy ever after. There will be times when you have to make hard decisions, struggle through uncomfortable situations, and learn to do things differently, in order to reach your goals, even when – or because – they’re aligned with your values.

Living true to your values is a bit like tending a rose bush: you need to water and nourish the bush, and at certain times, prune it. The blooms will be beautiful but there will always be thorns!  If you love roses, the work and being pricked will all be worthwhile when the blooms open. If you’re growing roses to please other people, the work and being pricked will in time get you down.

If you find yourself saying ‘I should ….., I really must …..,  I ought to ….’  you are probably living out values you’ve been taught are good but are not your own. Your own values will be the things you desire to do, that give you pleasure, so even the hard or unpleasant tasks are worth the outcome.

My favourite challenge quote is from John Demartini: If you don’t go after challenges that inspire you, you’ll have to deal with challenges that don’t.  Call me to help you identify your inspiring values.
