What do you do to feed your soul?

What do you do to feed your soul?

I’ve discovered that joy is a necessity to well-being. For long enough fun things that give me joy were fitted into the gaps between the things that had to be done.

Then I realised that the fun things were feeding my soul and restoring my energy because they fulfill some of my values. Suddenly they were not optional extras to be fitted into gaps, but things I need to allocate time for so I have the energy and motivation to do all the other stuff!

Living in alignment with my values is adding a new quality to my life. When I take time to have fun, I no longer have a bit of guilt lurking in the background reminding me of chores not done or work uncompleted. I can focus fully on enjoying myself and return home feeling refreshed and clear headed to complete the other things with light energy instead of feeling weighed down by them.

What difference would giving yourself permission to take time to actively enjoy things that give you pleasure make to your life?

The same applies to work. What if you could align your work activities and goals with your values?

Doing this is enabling me to bring a lighter and positive energy to admin tasks I have long disliked doing. Instead of seeing them as tedious chores I am now seeing them as stepping stones to fulfilling goals aligned with values that I’m motivated to reach.

It’s a great way to lighten up your life, become enthusiastic again, and get out of old ruts and feeling stuck.
